It has been a while since I have had a chance to blog. There has been a lot going on here in St. Louis for me and my company Design Style. One of the things that I have been working on is a room in the Ladue News Designer Show House, which runs through October 21. This years Show House is a Mid-Century Modern home designed by local architect William Bernoudy, who studied under Frank Loyd Wright. The home is located at 13428 Conway Road in Town & Country and is a 6,400 sq. ft., 20 room contemporary country home situated on 18 wooded acres.

There are 20 top design firms who participated in transforming this years Show House and my company Design Style is one of them. Can I get a “Yeah Baby!”? This was a great fit for me because I love mixing vintage and modern and that is what I did for my room at the Show house which I am calling ‘Twiggy’s Mod Room in the Woods’, it is listed as the Girls Room and is a bedroom. I am calling the style the room is designed in Organic Mod. Since the room looks out over the woods I wanted to use this element as well as give reference to the sixties, the time period the house was built.

One of the things I have in my show house room is a silver log side table.
I used Designers Guild’s fabric, Esponola Way, a bold Ikat in Fuschia.
I also used Osborne & Little’s Sabi Velvet in grape snakeskin for a pillow on the bed. A Seamstress in London sewed this and sent it over for me.
A whimsical element is the Lucellino desk lamp by Ingo Mauer
I will be showing the finished room in another post. But if you are here in St. Louis I hope you check out the Show House. The charities the show house will benefit are Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital, Angels Arms, the Animal Protective Agency APA and the Shakespeare Society.
